Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Prepares for $21 Million Emergency Department Expansion and Renovation

Introduction:

Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) has commenced the second phase of its facility expansion project, emphasizing the enhancement of the Emergency Department (ED)

Features:

The ED expansion and renovation will involve constructing a new waiting/reception area, trauma bays, treatment rooms, mental health rooms, and workspace for staff.

Additionally, there will be an expansion of storage space to accommodate equipment and supplies.

During this phase, the main ED entrance will be temporarily closed.

Patients seeking emergency care will be directed to utilize a temporary entrance located in the ambulance garage until mid-July.

Clear exterior signage will be provided to guide patients to the new temporary ED entrance, ensuring uninterrupted access to emergency medical services.
