New Frontier Group Expands Cancer Fight: Acquires Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Centre

Tuesday, May 28, 2024

New Frontier Group has recently completed the acquisition of the Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Center (HKIOC), a leading private oncology medical platform.

With this acquisition, New Frontier gains control over HKIOC's operations, which include its centers in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, as well as the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Oncology Center. HKIOC offers a comprehensive range of cancer treatment services, covering early diagnosis, radiotherapy, systemic treatments, mental health support, and rehabilitation services.

Through collaboration with New Frontier's subsidiary, HEAL Oncology, HKIOC is set to become a key player in the private comprehensive oncology sector in Hong Kong.

Additionally, HKIOC will work in conjunction with United Family Healthcare, another subsidiary of New Frontier, to enhance cross-border cancer care. This partnership aims to establish a nationwide multidisciplinary cancer network, bringing together surgeons, oncologists, and allied health specialists.

The acquisition marks a significant milestone in Hong Kong's healthcare landscape, expanding New Frontier's presence in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and driving progress in cancer care across the region. Rooted in New Frontier's belief in addressing the growing demand for cancer care, this move underscores the company's commitment to providing top-notch solutions for the region's burgeoning cancer patient population.

Oncology care is a strategic growth area for New Frontier, given the rising incidence of cancer in the region and the need to improve survival rates.

To address this, New Frontier will offer personalized and effective cancer services, focusing on enhancing screening and detection capabilities, as well as providing advanced treatment options such as targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy to minimize side effects and improve outcomes. Furthermore, allied health services such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), mental health support, and physical rehabilitation will play crucial roles in enhancing patient experience and recovery.

The acquisition unlocks expertise across various cancer types and establishes a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of specialists, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation therapists, and pharmacists, to develop precise and personalized treatment plans.

Moreover, New Frontier will leverage the combined resources of HEAL Oncology and HKIOC to conduct larger-scale and pioneering clinical trials, fostering innovation in cancer treatment and care.
