Medline Introduces TurboMist: Advanced Nebulizer for Faster Respiratory Treatment

Saturday, May 25, 2024

Medline has unveiled the Hudson RCI TurboMist small volume nebulizer, a new addition to its respiratory care product line. The TurboMist is engineered to be the fastest small volume nebulizer on the market, delivering medication treatments in just three minutes.

Due to high patient demand, respiratory therapists often manage about 25 treatments per shift. Staffing challenges have exacerbated the difficulty of timely care delivery, sometimes resulting in missed or delayed treatments.

Traditional nebulizers usually require at least 10 minutes per treatment, highlighting the need for faster devices.

TurboMist addresses this need by delivering medication 2.5 times faster than standard nebulizers, cutting treatment time down to three minutes, which is nearly 70% quicker. This efficiency enables respiratory therapists and clinicians to provide faster and more cost-effective care. Additional benefits of the TurboMist include:

  • Enhanced Medication Deposition: Rapid delivery with an optimal respirable fraction accelerates patient relief.
  • Better Patient Compliance: Shorter treatments make it easier for patients to complete their sessions, minimizing the time spent holding the device.
  • Increased Comfort and Efficacy: A comfortable swivel mouthpiece reduces the need for a mask and is effective whether the patient is sitting or lying down.
  • Wide Applicability: Suitable for patients aged five and older in both hospital and homecare settings.

“Respiratory therapists continually innovate to improve patient care, and we support them by developing advanced solutions,” said, a registered respiratory therapist and Medline clinical specialist. “TurboMist meets a critical need for faster medication delivery and a better patient experience.”

The launch of TurboMist reflects Medline’s dedication to innovation in respiratory care, enhancing practices across various settings. Their product portfolio includes oxygen delivery, medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, ventilation products, airway management, and minor capital equipment.
